Why I Chose To Run
Patriot Academy is something I am very passionate about, and I have been since I was first able to attend as a student in 2010. I believe Patriot Academy fills a crucial void by raising up leaders in the next generation to accept the Torch of Freedom.
After consulting with mentors, alumni, former cabinet members, and other people I admire, it became apparent to me to me that all believed I could do the job. But I continued to pray about it, as I did not want to do something without God’s blessing. After about a month I was comfortable with the decision and filed to run for Speaker.
Because of my background in web design and development I will bring much needed skills and knowledge to the cabinet. My knowledge will allow us to make our website more user friendly and intuitive and even more importantly we can innovate and develop more tools like The PA countdown, PatriotRules.org and many other projects that are on their way!
But web design and development is only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to what I have to offer the cabinet. As an Eagle Scout, I know what leadership is. But its not what most think, leadership doesn’t come from a title or position. Leadership is like climbing up a mountain and helping the people behind you, taking them higher as you go higher. To use a phrase that is cliche, ‘True leadership is service to others.’ Servant leadership is what is expected from the cabinet, and I have learned true servant leadership as a scout.
Although I have never been in any traditional debate competition, I have been debating all my life, with family and friends. In my 2 years as a student at Patriot Academy I poured over the communication lectures, learning all I could. I even purchased the DVD version of the lectures. I have continued to learn about communication. I have invited open critique of my communication ability and this has helped me grow even further. Today I believe my communication is leaps and bounds better than it was my freshman year at Patriot Academy.
I would be honored if you would consider supporting me.
Sincerely,
